This alarms me a little, as I think that based on my experience, most allegations against nurses (at least the ones that I've heard about) are false, or at least overblown. I am a firm believer in cause and effect, and nurses who are defacing the profession deserve what they get. I like the idea of cleaning house and getting a fresh start, and I agree that years to investigate wrongdoings is far too long, but I fear that a new nursing board that is put

I read the article in the paper - and I do have skepticism when it comes to media - but it truly does sound like it is time to shake the BRN up a bit. Especially if all that was said about the Pres was true. I do know nurses who have worked thru the system who shouldnt have....whether or not the replacements The Actor chose are any better - we will have to wait and see. I dont know and havent seen, the criteria he used to select the replacements so quickly.
There is little discussion of causes for stated delays in dealing with allegedly impaired or criminal nurses. Was the BRN given the tools to meet expectations?
Not having any facts in support of an intelligent opinion, let's just say I smell a rat somewhere. The political motives might explain a lot.
Absolutely. I don't know anyone who was reported to the board for any reason other that payback or retribution. Well, except diverters, and they get to keep their license.
