Nurse K has a post up from a week ago about linguistic pet peeves. Specifically, she complains about people using worser when they mean worse. This started a small firestorm in the comment section of people mentioning some other word usage that annoys them. Here are a few of my big pet peeves:
Din for didn't
Irregardless for regardless
Aks for ask
Jewllery for jewelry
nucular for nuclear
Atenonol for Atenolol

Definitely "definately".
Some others are: "thier", "recieve", and especially using "your" for "you're", as in "Your dumb." I see the last one EVERYWHERE.
There's another one that really bugs me, but I can't think of it.
Anyway, I know those are all spelling pet peeves, but I had to share. :)
Aks for ask is one that drives me up a flippin' wall.
Libary for Library is another.
I seen instead of I saw
Liberry for library
amblance for ambulance
mouf for mouth
axe for ask
pitcher for picture
wrong forms for their, there, they're, your, you're, don't doesn't, it's, its, etc.
vis... instead of This
free... instead of Three
dat... instead of That
der...instead of There
pisgetti... instead of Spaghetti
and when people say "Hey man you know I was so HYPO you know" Instead of hyper.

I know I am guilty of the their and there thing occasionally when I am in a hurry.

Abootrol, albutaron, albarol, etc...my god, people can not say Albuterol.
