I Said Height and Weight

http://www.buytaert.net/cache/images-miscellaneous-2006-my-weight-before-marriage-700x700.jpg

It amazes me how eighty percent of the time when I ask for height and weight I get weight and height.  This is not a huge deal, it's just interesting that almost everybody, even when asked for ht and wt (in that order) feel compelled to give me their weight first.  What's up with that?

Because people respond to what they heard last. Kind of like when I worked 9-1-1, when we said "Don't Hang Up," they heard "Hang Up".

Or subconsciously the public obsesses about their weight, not only how much they weigh, but how their weight is perceived.
LOL

Its because people are conscious about their weight. All of us know after a certain age the height wont increase.

I would say because most people are so self conscious about their weight, they would know that number first and automatically. Height, not so much. It never really changes, it is not something you can control and not a lot of people care all that much about it.

You could try an experiment. Start asking for weight and height and see how people reply.

I'd be interested to hear what happens.

Might as well get the bad part over with first, lol. Or emphasize the weight if it's good or new and improved.
