Reason for Visit of the Day

I worked triage again today, and the hands-down winner for best entry in the "reason for visit" line of the paper patients fill out when checking in:

my head poped

I hate it when that happens.  Luckily, a few royal men and horses were able to get together with a roll of duct tape and some crazy glue and solve the problem.

Runner-up:

emergency

Thanks - that's really helpful.

Wow. I don't even know what to say. "Poped"? Is that even a word? Does he mean popped? Like his head popped? I hope he got to the front of the line if his head popped. :)

You just know whoever wrote "EMERGENCY" came in with a stubbed toe or something, and went back to their seat in the waiting room chortling "It HAS to work! Mwa ha ha ahaa!"

Dumbasses.

But it doesn't. I always look through the slips when I'm a few patients behind so that I don't miss a chest paineur or something, and when I see a dumb one or an illegible one, I ask the registrar what they complained about and if they were bleeding out of any orifices. If not, they wait their turn.
