Why is it that the most critical piece of equipment that we use in the ER sounds exactly like a cheap video game?

omg, this cracks me up!!!
The 840 does have a weird alarm. But all vent alarms are like that these days. We use the Drager Evita's latest generation where I work, and the alarms are horrible. But the vent companies do it on purpose...they want the sound of the alarm to drive you insane enough that you'll do something about it.
